Synth-Werk has announced a new Moog format modular system, the SW-3P-2020, inspired by Klaus Schulze and the classic Moog 3P modular system.
“Klaus Schulze bought his system in 1975 from German Artist Florian Fricke and used it for several years in live performances, as well as studio recordings,” they note. “It is about time to reengineer and resurrect this wonderful instrument, to the last detail, to bring back the authentic sound and feel of this highly sophisticated beauty.”
Synth-Werk is designed to recreate the sonic character of the original, using discrete components and hand-wiring, while also incorporating improvements like better thermal stability and a balanced XLR output.
The SYSTEM SW-3P-2020 includes the following modules, in three Tolex-covered cases:
SW914 Fixed Filter Bank

Adam Beyer has shared the recording of a b2b set he played with Eric Prydz (as Cirez D) at Creamfields 2019.
Shared this week as part of Drumcode Radio, the mix is a two hour venture into epic, stadium-ready techno from two of the biggest names in the game. Listen to it below.
Drumcode will release the ninth edition of it’s A-Sides compilation series this month, featuring music from Eats Everything, Dubfire, Christian Smith, Juliet Fox and more. Meanwhile, Eric Prydz has relaunched his EPIC radio show on Apple Music, where he recently debuted brand new music as Cirez D.
Roosevelt, NY producer DJ AO‘s new single, “Bread & Cheese,” is a celebratory banger that chronicles all the hard work and hustle of its collaborators – Harlem emcee UFO Fev and Brooklyn vocalist Travis Mendes. The beatsmith/deejay invited both artists to take a proverbial seat at the table and share respective stories about their come up over a smooth anthemic backdrop. Fev takes the listener back in time with slick references to Camron’s iconic album cover, while Mendes ties things up with a keep-it-a-buck proclamation in the chorus.
Overall, “Bread & Cheese” is more than just waxing poetics about nostalgia and inspirational tales related to perseverance and hard work. Both Fev and Mendes also take time to recognize what they’ve accomplished and where they are today with wise words about wealth and maintaining a strong sense of self.
A tribute mix for Avicii aired on Tomorrowland’s One World Radio this week.
Marking two years since the beloved EDM star’s tragic death, Nicky Romero and Laidback Luke stepped up to put together an hour long show celebrating the music of their friend. Featuring hits and deep cuts from the producer’s catalogue, as well as memories and stories from Luke and Romero, it’s a touching tribute to the sorely missed artist.
You can listen to the full mix below.
Earlier this week Avcii’s friend and collaborator Aloe Blacc curated a 24-hour live streamed tribute to the artist, real name Tim Bergling. The Swedish EDM star’s legacy and influence on the world of electronic music endures, with hit ‘Wake Me Up’ being named as the highest charting dance track of the decade. Earlier in the year, Avicii was awarded two posthumous Swedish Grammys for his album ‘TIM’, which was completed by friends and collaborators. Just this month, ‘TIM’ won the award for Best Album at this year’s International Dance Music Awards.
Tame Impala mastermind Kevin Parker, Vance Joy, The Wiggles, and Courtney Barnett have been confirmed for Australasian concert special, Music From The Home Front. Announced April 22, the televised broadcast event will honor workers on the frontline fighting against COVID-19 as well as servicemen and women. Music From The Home Front will commence on Australia and New Zealand’s national day of remembrance, Anzac Day, observed annually on April 25.
Since its initial announcement, the tribute concert has expanded its lineup to encompass Dean Lewis, Missy Higgins, Paul Kelly, and more–several of which participated in the Lady Gaga-curated benefit concert One World: Together at Home. While every artist has volunteered their time, the event organizers state that each performance will be paid a fee, with some artists intending to pass the fee onto their bands, crews or music industry organizations.
“It is no secret that, alongside many Aussie and Kiwis, the music industry has been hard hit by COVID-19. For this very reason Music From The Home Front has chosen not to run this event as a fundraiser when many in the community are counting every dollar they have,” issued a statement.
Music From the Home Front will begin this Saturday on 7:30pm AEST / 5:30am EST and broadcast on Australia’s free-to-air Nine and 9Now, and New Zealand’s Three and ThreeNow.

Claptone is crafting an unconventional digital residency vis-à-vis “CLAPTONE in The Circus,” a live video series that debuted on April 22 and will air consecutively on Wednesdays until Aug. 5.
For 12 weeks, Claptone will dig deep into his trove of unreleased treasure to treat those who tune in to more than 40 exclusive Claptone originals, remixes, and edits. The twist? Claptone will premiere all of this material not behind the decks of a Balearic hot spot or an underground house venue, but rather from within a circus.
In these trying times, I’ve often found myself going on long, isolated walks to appreciate the beauty of nature. It was on one of these scenic, afternoon journeys that I first stumbled upon a tiny family-run circus.
The circus director told me about their struggle to pay the rent and buy food for the animals since the pandemic hit, as they couldn’t put on public shows.
“CLAPTONE in The Circus” is a philanthropic undertaking that enables the producer to support the circus while stylizing unique sets from within the grounds, complete with performance artists, including jugglers, knife throwers, and more.
I decided not simply to donate food and money, but to play specially themed and carefully selected sets at this little circus, involving parts of their show, to bring joy to my friends and fans in sound and vision
An unusual setting for a live series that befits Claptone’s idiosyncratic mystique, the circus grounds will next host the enigmatic entity at 9 p.m. CET April 29. “CLAPTONE in The Circus” can be streamed live via Claptone’s YouTube or Facebook page.
