64 Custom Patches For The UDO Super 6 Synthesizer

[embedded content]

Synth4ever has introduced Supersonic, a collection of custom sounds for the UDO Super 6 synthesizer, covering pads, leads, strings, sequences, arps, keys, textures, bass and FX.

Here’s what they have to say about the sound library:

“The Super 6 is a beautiful sounding, versatile and powerful digital/analog hybrid synth, and I tried to push it in new directions when creating many of these patches using firmware v0.26. In addition to traditional “bread and butter” sounds, this UDO Super 6 soundset also includes some experimental motion loops, generative soundscapes and texture-based approaches to sound design.

These 64 custom patches will install to user banks A-H on your UDO SUPER 6, and nearly all contain tasteful aftertouch and pitch bend (positive and negative) modulation assignments. This gives you additional expression and timbre possibilities within the patch itself – so be sure to experiment with these controllers!

Overall, I’m proud of the SUPERSONIC soundset and believe it covers a lot of interesting sonic territory for musicians and listeners alike. Thanks for your interest in and support of my work; I hope you enjoy exploring and performing with these patches on your UDO Super 6 as much as I do on mine, should you wish to acquire them.”

All sounds in this video are from UDO Super 6 w/ no external effects, compression or mastering.

Live Ambient Performance With Oberheim, Moog & ARP Synths

[embedded content]

Sunday Synth Jam: This live performance, by Dutch synthesist Martin Peters, makes masterful use of analog synths like the Oberheim OB-Mx, Polymoog & Korg ARP Odyssey to create a modern take on classic synth music.

Here’s what Peters shared about the technical details of his performance:

“A couple of weeks ago I got my Oberheim OB-Mx back from repairs after it has been in repair for a year. There are 3 voicecards inside, each containing 2 voices, so it has 6 voices in total. But 1 of these voicecards could not be tuned anymore. The repair-shop could not find the problem so I still have 1 voicecard I cannot use.

Anyways, this video starts with the Oberheim OB-Mx having the VCA’s opened playing a G minor chord. The Minimoog solo comes in and there is a sort of ‘Shine On You Crazy Diamond’ deja-vu. The Polymoog with the Behringer VP1 Phaser accompanies the Minimoog. After that some tones are added from the Synthesizers.com Modular, Oberheim SEM and Korg ARP Odyssey with the VCA’s opened. Then the sequences start, adding the Joranalogue Generate 3 and Mutable Instruments Plaits. It all builds up to a climax where the Odyssey plays some notes. And after that it all fades out to nothing.

The track was recorded live to multi-track on the Behringer X32 Compact and mixed in Studio One afterwards. The mix only involves some gain staging, EQ and compression. No track edits where performed and no automation was used.”
